It smells like freshly cut peaches mingling with some fresh Tequila. That's the quality we are dealing with here. I may think it's one of their weaker flavors but it's pretty damn close to what I expect from that restaurant. I bring it up because if that restaurant served me this canned Cutwater product instead of a fresh margarita, I'd be none the wiser. They have an expansive menu offering all sorts of delectable margarita flavors. 7.25/10Ĭutwater Peach Margarita: There's a wonderful margarita bar in Fremont, CA called La Pinata that I love to frequent when I'm in the area. I quite like this one even if I prefer the regular Lime Margarita the most. The Tequila provides a nice, sharp contrast with both the lime, mango and pineapple profiles making this a very smooth but nicely complex variation on the drink. Unlike the Strawberry, this also has lime which you can't really smell but you can absolutely taste as it does wonders to keep the ripe mango flavor profile from becoming overly sweet. This is actually not made from mango puree, just "natural" flavors so I'm willing to bet there's a reason why I'm picking up pineapple as well. This smells of ripe mango and a nice but unintrusive burst of Tequila that made me happy-I want to smell some alcohol in my alcoholic drinks, dammit! There's also what I suspect to be pineapple in there as well. 5.5/10Ĭutwater Mango Margarita: Much more well-balanced aroma than the Strawberry product. To its credit it's not cloyingly sweet nor does it taste artificial but still, I really wish this packed more of a punch and wasn't so subdued. Only the aftertaste confirms there is actual alcohol in there. There's no alcohol kick and the strawberry seems more like a suggestion than a presence. I can't help but suspect they used some kind of additive to enhance the strawberry flavor because while it smells mostly fresh, there is an element that seems too fragrant. At just 10% this is the mildest Cutwater Margarita product. Without further ado, here are the reviews!Ĭutwater Strawberry Margarita: Straight up just tastes like strawberry puree with the faintest traces of the Cutwater Tequila smell. As it happens most flavored margaritas are more agave wines or premixes which require a greater investment (both time and money), so I decided to find all the flavored cans I could afford and throw in two agave wines and flavored mix to make this entry both exciting and get the limited canned selections out of the way so in the future I can focus on the agave wines for the remainder of this series. Intro: For the first time in this series we will be diving into the wonderful world of flavored margaritas.
